You don’t have to wait until summer to enjoy an array of gorgeous blooms around your property. Our resident arborist has put together a list of recommendations for the best Spring flowering trees for your garden:
Crab Apple Tree (Malus Rudolph) – Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love the deep pink blossom of the crab apple tree? Not only is this medium sized fruit tree beautifully ornamental but of course it yields edible fruit. This tree also gives great colour in the autumn too.
Magnolia Daphne – the magnolia is the most popular flowering trees and the yellow flowering Magnolia Daphne is a striking variety which will really add some wonderful vibrancy to your garden every Spring. Suitable for small gardens, this upright, compact tree displays pale yellow, tulip shaped flowers which can be really show stopping when in full bloom.
The Empress Tree (also known as the Princess Tree and the Foxglove Tree) – This stunning tree is suitable for larger gardens and offers a beautiful covering of purple, bell shaped flowers every spring before it’s foliage unfolds. Not only is it super attractive but it is also very easy to care for and can be left to it’s own devices to take care of itself…..a word of warning though, it grows fast and needs lots of space.
